What interests me most about a story is the struggle. No matter a person’s background, no matter how big or small, everyone has experienced struggle. And the way you respond to your personal struggle says a lot about you and your story. I try to induce a little struggle into my life everyday. Whether it’s solving the puzzle of a story I’m working on, running miles in the mountains of Colorado, lifting heavy things to exhaustion, or working to improve personal relationships I have in my life. It all equates to struggle, and all that work helps me better relate to the stories I produce. But when I put all of that down, I’m either camping in the mountains with my fiancé and two boxers, enjoying a beer on a patio, or I’m sitting on a lawn chair in one of Boulder’s many creeks.
